Butterflies

This week I’ve worked on trying to capture the vivid color patterns of butterflies seen at Reiman Gardens a few years ago. These two particular butterflies are the Buckeye and the Swallowtail — quite beautiful and delicate.

The Cincinnati School

The first school in Cincinnati, Iowa, was built in 1852 of hewn-logs, just west of the town square. The second school was built in 1857 across the street from the present West Pleasant Christian Church.  In 1877, another school was built on the lot where the present school stands, one block north of the square.
