These two young drummers caught my eye because they were wearing red artist “tams”. I think this drum group was from Iowa City and marched in the 1996 Pancake Day parade. I worked from one of my photos.
I had planned to do a series of these smaller paintings of the marching band, at least a dozen, but ran out of time. Perhaps next year I can finish these. Currently they are displayed at my Bradley Hall space.
