My latest idea was to begin the Daily Paintings in the smaller format. They can be painted “alla prima”, or in one sitting. I feel a sense of accomplishment in being able to finish something daily. These smaller artworks are studies where the subject matter can be explored before delving into a much larger piece. My reference photo of garden daffodils was used to sketch them on a smooth, or hot press, paper. The result is a soft, lively watercolor of these spring beauties.
