This is a continuation of my barn series, done in acrylic collage in a square design format. I began by using my bags of paper scraps I have accumulated over the years. I use my reference photos and sketches — I like to begin with the center of interest, as opposed to beginning with the sky and working down to the foreground. While working on this I found a beautiful piece of variegated paper that was perfect for the sunset. Most of the time I improvise and let the design flow as the ideas and colors inspire me to make changes, and then finalize the unique composition. This keeps my work fresh instead of just being a copy of my photo.
