I am always inspired to paint fresh flowers from my garden. The colors are bold and bright, and the various shapes of flowers are fresh and appealing to me. This design includes bunches of cosmos, zinnias, marigolds and sunflowers. I improvised on the colors and painted over the bluish background shapes with gesso, as I felt it was over-powering the bouquet. Once I began gluing down shapes of the flowers, I edited and allowed the design to change and progress using my intuitive process. The finished painting is my impression of this bouquet.
