This collage painting was inspired by my beautiful garden flowers. The design possibilities are endless and I enjoy creating the shapes and colors into something fresh and beautiful. My original plan was to use a limited palette of blues and yellows. The contrast of the sharp, angular asters and the soft, buttery yellow of the buttercups is soothing. The background is sheet music overlaid with copper metallic and red interference pigments to add depth.
