Wheels & Belts #2
Machine compositions seem to have captured my interest again! This design is just a small piece of an old threshing machine. I love the old rusted pieces of metal and weathered wood sections of the machine. It would be fun to see it actually working in the field.
When I begin my watercolor compositions, I spend a long time drawing, as this is my unstructured that the painting is built upon. This watercolor is pretty much the local colors of the machine; grays, rusty reds and dark blues. This painting has a strong connection to my past works of the incinerators and hay balers. Who knows, these machines may grow into a beautiful series work!
