Watercolor

This watercolor was started in early spring of this year and I set it aside for a while to think about the direction I was going with it. It is the first of my Hay Baler paintings, more abstract than the second piece.  I have a lot of energy and work on numerous paintings simultaneously. Some make it, others get trashed. For some reason this one sat longer than usual; I just hit a dead end with it. It is an Allis Chalmers variety, an old model. I am attracted to rusted antiques and liked the shapes and color. I used stronger pigments of permanent orange, deep blue, purple, and manganese blue, so it’s actually an improvement.
