This portrait is of Willa Cather, one of my favorite authors. Completing a contour sketch from a reference photo, this acrylic portrait portrays Ms. Cather wearing a brocade hat and dark green jacket in the style of that period. I love the dresses and hats the women wore at that time. For the background I used some of her book titles. All my collage papers are painted in advance using various acrylic paints.
