I love painting the old barns of Iowa because they all have distinctive characteristics. My hand-painted acrylic papers are very easy to work with for collage. The thick texture and bright colors comprise my paintings. I based this on one of my watercolor prints of a barn in southeast Iowa that I painted many years ago, but I redesigned the composition using big, simple shapes and edited as I worked. The jeans on the clothesline was an addition that adds interest to the design. The clouds are pieces of a map.
