“November Sunflowers” Selected for “Iowa Exhibited 20”
Marybeth Heikes’ painting November Sunflowers has been selected to be shown in the “Iowa Exhibited 20”. This exhibition will be held at the Polk County Heritage Gallery, 111 Court Avenue, in Des Moines. The show opens June 6, with a reception Sunday afternoon, June 12, and it continues until August 4. The gallery is open to the public weekdays from 11:00am to 4:30pm.
The “Iowa Exhibited 20” is an annual juried exhibition open to all professional and amateur Iowa artists. The juror this year was Lesley Wright, PhD, the director of the Faulconer Gallery at Grinnell College.
November Sunflowers is one acrylic collage of Heikes’ sunflowers series and was exhibited in the Western Colorado Watercolor show in March 2004. Currently, Marybeth’s watercolor painting Teapots #13 is exhibited at the Charles City Art Center as part of the Iowa Watercolor Traveling Exhibition.
