This is a pet portrait in watercolor of one of our cats, Tiny. I love painting pets and have been commissioned to paint many portraits over the years. We adopted Tiny many years ago and her markings are similar to the Russian Blue breed. I achieved painting her soft, gray fur with cadmium orange and cerulean blue. I painted them wet-in-wet, in which the colors are blended on the paper and the viewer can see the pigment variations. This portrait was completed for my grandson’s sixth birthday.
