Engine Abstraction #8
This design is a continuation of my close-up train engine series. At a workshop many years ago, the instructor encouraged all of us to paint in a series because you would see your progress as an artist over a period of years. I find this challenging — to explore this subject matter in depth over a period of time. It is important to chose a subject that interests you and I have painted engines and trains in a variety of mediums. The textures and geometric shapes interest me and also the local color. The series is a strong statement as a group, in unity and harmony and subject matter.
