Acrylic collage

My love affair with the old barns in Iowa continues. I have been roaming the countryside photographing these distinct structures that are full of character. I begin with numerous sketches and use my thick, acrylic pigments to hand-paint my collage papers before beginning. Most of the time I just begin cutting the shapes and work intuitively, editing and allowing for changes that are not planned, not knowing what the outcome may be. Collage is a wonderful medium in that I work with big shapes and colors and do not worry about the details.
