This painting continues my development into portraiture. Luckily, my family cooperates when I ask them to pose. This is a portrait of my sister who posed in a candid, comfortable sitting position. I did a loose sketch that was pleasing and worked from it using my hand-painted acrylic collage papers. The thick, acrylic paint works well for the simple cut shapes. The lack of detail gives the piece strength and character.
