This was my daily painting for March 6, 2024. I used a photo of my still life setup which included a flamingo plant, a round red vase, and some small bottles on a patterned blue fabric. It is pretty “busy” with shapes and patterns, but I felt it all worked together well. The objects are some of my favorite from my collection that I have used over again and again. The patterned blue fabric reflects and there are fractured shapes behind glass which create an interest in the still life and it contrasts with the natural shapes of the plant. It was a challenge to paint in this small format but the result was worth it.
