This figurative acrylic collage is a continuation of the Suffrage theme. These women are wearing the suffragist dresses and sashes declaring “Votes for Women.” I used the Iowa state map for the background and painted a wash of interference acrylic red to tone down the white of the map. Three symbolic yellow roses decorate the bottom of the composition. I used a gessoed hardboard for the support and a protective varnish upon finish.
