I'm been designing and creating another acrylic collage of the train engines. This is a close up composition which are geometric shapes and bold colors. There are so many details on train engines that you don't notice when taking a photograph. more »
Trains are one of my favorite subject matter to paint and I have found working on this series exciting. This particular design features a boxcar in black, orange, sienna, tan, and gray. more »
My inspiration for this acrylic collage were the beautiful flowers, and the challenge of continuing my monochromatic theme from a previous artwork. I used one of my reference photos of my garden flowers in Centerville, and created a sketch from the photo in the actual paper size. more »

I have painted this particular barn from various viewpoints and love the character it has. Perhaps the barn is no longer standing; many of these beautiful barns have disappeared from our rural landscape. more »
I enjoy walking downtown Des Moines and viewing the geometric shapes of the buildings. This particular street made me smile with the humorous graffiti on the building. more »

The main impetus for this design was the popularity of the subject matter, and modern architecture. I photographed the section of the building which interested me and worked from one of these angles. more »
