“Glass Abstractions #7” Gets The Blues
Marybeth Heikes’ watercolor Glass Abstractions #7 will be exhibited in the juried competition “Afternoon with the Blues” at the Sanford Museum in Cherokee, Iowa. This exhibit opens January 5, 2007 and continues through February 3. The reception and Gallery Talk will be January 14 at 2pm.
The Sanford Museum regularly features a variety of subjects, including archaeology, art, astronomy, geology and others. The “Afternoon with the Blues” exhibit is open to all artists and the paintings must incorporate the color blue. The artwork must be original and completed in the last two years and not previously on display at the museum.
Update: Glass Abstractions #7 has been awarded an Honorable Mention for the show. Juror Mary Mello-Nee writes: “Wonderful layering and subtleties of color… I keep wanting to immerse myself in the reflection.”
