This design is a colorful acrylic collage of some henhouse chickens. I used my imagination to create the barn, inspired mostly from my old photo collection, and cut the shapes from my hand-painted acrylic papers. These barn collages originated in 1985 when I decided to try acrylics instead of watercolors. The pigments are saturated and thicker, which I prefer. I also favor the square format. Most of these first barn collages were 8” x 8”.
