This watercolor painting has been in progress since summer and I finally decided to edit the design and finish it. Originally I had too many details in the foreground, so I erased most of the fabric and added a simple bud vase with two of my gerbera daisies. It was finished wet-in-wet with plenty of pigments and water, achieving the soft, blended colors and integrating the bud vase and daisies to a lesser role in the composition. Zinnias are one of my favorite flowers and I enjoy painting their square petals and vivid hues.
